ALOHA

This is some character design work I did a while ago for television production company Carsey-Werner. They pitched the series idea to FOX, who liked the concept and wanted to see a finished animated cartoon. The story takes place in a suburb of Honolulu and centers around a working class Hawaiian family. These sketches are of their free-spirited, blue collar dad.

THE ANCIENT AGE
The Ancient Age is a collection of stories focusing on the world's earliest civilizations throughout history. I have a brand new two-pager included in the book, along with many other fine cartoonists. In celebration of Free Comic Book Day, Wide Awake Press is offering a free downloadable and web version of the comic here.

FLUKE ANTHOLOGY
I have a new comic in the Fluke Anthology which makes its debut at the Fluke comic book show this Saturday in Athens, Georgia. It is an 80 page comic extravaganza, wrapped in a screen printed cover, with a spectacular line up of artists. The book is edited by J Chris Campbell and Brad McGinty and is published by Wide Awake Press.

ART SHOW AT MOCT

I have a new piece in the Propaganda show which just opened at Moct last week. The show is sponsored by Hot Pop, an ultra cool shop and gallery in the Third Ward. I'm not certain how long the show will run. My guess is it'll be up through November. If you're in the Milwaukee area, stop by and check it out. Moct is located at 240 E. Pittsburgh Ave.

DIM-WITTED DARRYL THE EARLY YEARS

Here are some vintage Dim-Witted Darryl drawings. Some pre-date the release of the book, while others (mainly the sketches) were done while working on the series.
A significant difference with the original Dim-Witted Darryl drawings and the current design is the "slice of pie" eyes he now has. It gives him more of a classic 1930s feel mixed with a contemporary cartoon style. I also chose to axe the single tooth sticking out of his mouth. Though, it probably made him look more like a buck tooth hillbilly, I prefer him without it.
